7 1/2 year old male / Available at the Station

Sometimes our Sidney tries to measure up to his namesake, the great Sidney Poitier, as they both are remarkable and our little Pug is a giant in his own right because of the huge obstacles he’s faced. Sidney has very little eye sight and moderate hearing and was a stray on the streets of Downey until he was finally taken into a local shelter. When we rescued him, he displayed his gratitude with an excitement for his new life. He still gets around well despite his blindness and near deafness and is friendly with humans, but is still getting used to being held and receiving affection. Often times, he does get a bit squirmy when he feels he’s being held for too long; like all movie stars, he appreciates his personal space. Sidney likes to take walks, but seems to be just as content napping in a comfy bed. Due to his lack of sight and being easily startled, he’s been in the middle of some squabbles with other dogs, so he’d probably do best in an only dog home. We hope there’s someone out there who is patient and willing to give Sidney a chance at his forever home. He deserves it! He may not be in a film, but his very existence shows this little Sir is a fighter. He deserves the very best home, and is waiting for you.
