10 year old male mix / Available at the Station
Kennedy was stuck at the Carlsbad Shelter; we’re not sure if he was a stray or owner surrender. He is a man of many colors and simply an amazing dog. Once his trust in you is established, he is a wonderful friend to have around. Our staff thinks he has an incredible smile that ranges from wide grin, to a brilliant reveal of every single tooth. If, while petting him, you stop for any reason, he’s been known to reach out and grab your hand so you’ll pet him some more. As he continues to let you in, he will cuddle with you and even let you hold him like a baby! He loves to play with toys, although sometimes he can play a little rough because he’s so excited. Kennedy is intelligent and receptive to treat training, and once boundaries are set, he’s a joy to be with. Kennedy enjoys laying on the couch with you or playing tug-o-war; he’s very loyal, so he really just wants to be where you are. He gets along with other dogs, but tends to stick to the human. He seems to like everyone, but we have found that he can be uncomfortable around men. Kennedy is a great boy – with an irresistible under bite – who would do beautifully in a patient home. We believe he is worth the extra time to form the friendship and love he so truly deserves.
